Last night, I had the honour of hosting some of my favourite bloggers at Rosewood London’s Scarfes Bar. Rosewood London is by far my favourite hotel in the capital and so I never need an excuse to hang out there. I’d heard lots about the Cabaret nights that they’ve hosted over the last couple of months and so I couldn’t wait to check it out for myself.
I had no idea how much fun I was about to let myself in for.
The night was designed to make you feel as though you were in the middle of a crazy house party, a house party hosted by some of your crazy relatives, each with their own quirks and love of champagne! We were treated to performances by Dusty Limits, Laura London, Lili La Scala, Vicky Butterfly and Sammy Dinneen as well as some dancing from the 2 times UK Lindyhop Champaion, Hot-Cha Swing.
For 2 hours we enjoyed performances by some of the world’s best singers, magicians, contortionists, the bar’s wonderful band, not to mention the burlesque dancer who left me promising myself I’d take lessons! The boys seemed less impressed when the semi-naked contortionist removed his shirt and took to the stage, but the girls definitely weren’t complaining.
The show didn’t take itself too seriously, with a heavy emphasis on each of the act’s love of champagne and every single one of them cleverly managed to include all of the crowd. This isn’t a show for you to hide in the corner, get ready for audience participation!
The next show is taking place on 16th November and I know that I for one will already be booking my tickets. The shows are very intimate, with limited tickets available. You can buy yours now for £30 per person. It’s worth every penny. I promise. I genuinely can’t think of anything I’d rather be doing on a Sunday evening!
