Dating Hassle Free With Date Knights

As Bells is becoming a little more independent (read: isn’t constantly attached to my boobs), we’re gradually restoring a sense of normality back into our lives and have reinstated date nights. This gives us the opportunity to spend a good few hours wearing clothes that aren’t covered in baby sick/poop/food and conversation which doesn’t revolve around her for the whole evening (who am I kidding – we have good intentions at least!).

When I met Dickie, I prided myself on knowing the hippest, coolest places to hang out in London. However, a few years down the line, a move to the country and the arrival of a baby means that my area of expertise has shifted to the strongest caffeine establishments with plenty of room for prams. Therefore a few weeks ago, I took to Twitter to ask for advice (which I of course was planning to take the credit for).

The guys at Date Knights got in touch to offer their help and just like a fairy godmother, I wondered where they’d been my whole life. Founded by folks with a background of personal assistance and lifestyle management, they found themselves increasingly organising dates. Aware that time is an asset many of us are lacking, they decided to put their experience to good use and so Date Knights was born.

The concept is brilliant, answer a few simple questions to give them an idea of your tastes and budget, along with the package that you’d like and date/time for your date and they take care of the rest. They’ll book you the best tables in the best locations (well known and hidden gems) and will email you a detailed itinerary to your inbox… ready for you to take all of the credit!

For our date, we only had a limited time but managed to squeeze in drinks and dinner at Six Storeys on Soho, followed by drinks at The Experimental Cocktail Club (one of my fave places). The itinerary gave me everything, from the train I needed to catch, to the length of time it would take to get to each venue and little tips for getting the most out of each place when we were there. Every detail had been considered which meant that I didn’t have to worry about a thing – invaluable when time is something that I have nothing of at the moment.

I hadn’t heard of Six Storeys before – it had only opened in January and combines a bar, restaurant and event space with a prohibition feel. The food was delish (I can thoroughly recommend the cauliflower from the all day menu) and the cocktails were amazing… I’m somewhat of a cocktail snob, so that really is something. The Espresso Martini was the perfect pick-me-up before we headed to The Experimental Cocktail Club!

Even though I’ve been to The Experimental Cocktail Club numerous times before, it’s hidden location (and strong cocktails) meant I never would have remembered where it was but thankfully the guys at Date Knights had sent tips to help find it so that I could style it out looking like I knew exactly where I was going!

I can’t recommend the guys at Date Knights highly enough – they were nothing short of exceptional in helping us make the most of our “night off” and we even managed a good hour or so without baby chat.

Packages start from £40 and are really great value if you want the peace of mind of having everything taken care of. I’ll definitely be using them again… (and hoping that Dickie doesn’t read this post. If he does, I’m busted!).

They’ve kindly offered a discount to all of my readers, giving 25% off all dates taking place between Friday 10th and Tuesday 14th February if it’s booked by Wednesday. Just head over to www.dateknights.co.uk and  the code WCP_Valentines in the Special Requests section of the form.

You can check them out for yourselves over at www.dateknights.co.uk or give them a follow on @dateknightsldn. What are you waiting for?
