… and so the time comes to share my final day in New York (sob).
After a late night, it’s fair to say that we got off to a little bit of a slow start. Chef Fran made scrumptious scrambled eggs with avocado before we headed up town for a day of acting like true tourists. Central Park and Fifth Avenue were on the cards. We had BIG plans. For at least 2 hours. Then we crumbled.
We walked through the park, taking in the gorgeous autumn leaves. It’s the thing that I love about New York, the same as England – the fact that we get seasons… you visually see changes throughout the year and I kinda love that. Plus you have a reason to have different wardrobes!
We walked towards the boating lake where there was a man sat on a bench, practising guitar. As we walked past him, he started singing one of my favourite songs of all time. It’s genuinely a moment that I’ll never forget.
We continued past the zoo, taking in the seals on the way. I’m not sure that Fran fully appreciated my seal impression as I walked though the park. I think she might have tired of it after a few minutes. Venturing onto Fifth Avenue, the temperature had taken somewhat of a tumble and so we had to take cover in the shops. Such a shame.
I can honestly say, that it was probably my favourite evening of the trip. New York is amazing, with something to do for everybody no matter what your tastes. But the true reason that I loved my time there so much – spending time with my best friend in the world. Making and sharing memories that I’ll never forget. I feel truly blessed. Thank you New York, you spoiled us.
